Wanted - The best digital signage projects in Europe
Digital Signage Best Practice Award 2011


Digital signage - the display of content on screens - has the potential to change POS/POI communication radically. The combination of luminous moving images and interactive elements opens up new possibilities for transporting messages and information - and for displaying them right at the POS/POI.

The viscom, the International Trade Fair for Visual Communication, has been promoting this young medium with its own awards, the Digital Signage Best Practice Awards, since 2007. The awards will be presented to outstanding projects for the fifth time in 2011: the underlying idea, the realisation and the usefulness for the observer/user will all be given equal prominence in the evaluation. The awards will be presented jointly to both the client and the contractor.

The composition of the international jury corresponds to that of a real project team and incorporates a range of viewpoints, depending on the individual jury members and their own particular specialisations.

Three entries will be nominated in each of the following categories:

Retail Signage
Guiding Signage
Information Signage
Content for Digital Signage
Interactive Signage

The jury will then choose a winner in each category from these 15 projects. The jury also has the option of awarding a special prize to particularly innovative projects.

The Digital Signage Best Practice Awards are now regarded by many as the most valuable awards for digital signage projects in Europe. Besides multinational companies such as Deutsche Lufthansa AG, Deutsche Telekom AG, Coca Cola Great Britain and Audi AG, increasing numbers of less well-known newcomers have also won an award on the basis of their promising ideas.

Projects from all application areas of digital signage are eligible to enter the competition - not simply advertising displays or in-store POS TV.

The period for submitting entries to the Digital Signage Best Practice Awards 2011 starts on 23 May 2011 and finishes on 01 August 2011. Entries can only be submitted online via this website.


The finalists will be presented in a special exhibition area of the Digital Signage World at viscom düsseldorf 2011. The winners will be announced at the viscom night on 14 October 2011.
